Saints’ Hill Church
Brand Creation
Branding | Creative Direction | Website
Portland based church Bridgetown was looking to plant a church in Newberg called Saints’ Hill. At the very core, they were wanting a brand that captured the beauty of the surrounding red hills and also an aesthetic that bridged the gap between ornate and classical, and modern.
The Approach:
The logo was inspired by traditional Japanese tea and the terraced wine growing hills surrounding Newberg. We went with a cleaner, more modern take to help resonate with up-to-date trends. The primary logo colors are black and white to keep the aesthetic minimal but also an easy motif to carry over into other branding materials such as bookmarks, stickers and t-shirts. The photography was kept local and minimal as well.
The Website:
I worked closely with the church leaders to develop brand styles that could be easily carried over from printed materials. I designed the website with a minimalist look but also intentional so it is easy for the user to find all the information they need quickly. I used imagery from Newberg so that users would feel a direct connection to the community of Newberg when they use the website. Below are a few web page examples from the website.
