Mt. Rainier Poster

In my opinion, Mt Rainier National Park is the most stunning place in the United States. The rugged peaks, meadows full of wildflowers and babbling streams are enough to make any person awestruck. With this in mind, I decided to create a poster to showcase the beauty of the park. I also decided to challenge myself to learn a new style of illustration.

The style I chose to emulate was that of WPA. This style was created in the 1930’s and 40’s to advertise National Parks. I have always admired posters like this because of the charming, vintage look. This look also is a breath of fresh air from the current clean modern posters, making it standout on any wall.

St. Johns Poster

The Saint Johns Bridge is an iconic landmark in Portland. That being said, the market is fairly saturated with Portland merchandise containing this subject matter, and so a strong poster can be more effective than ever. I created this poster to capture a unique angle and show off the sparkling architecture of the bridge, never seen before.

I challenged myself to create this illustration from a photograph using color blocking and clean lines. The simple and bold color pallet and strong shapes makes the poster standout from common Portland merchandise, creating a standout product in a market already saturated with Portland iconic images.

Lido Poster

A few summers ago I went to Switzerland with my family and learned about “The Lido”. A Lido is a public outdoor swimming pool and surrounding facilities, or part of a beach where people can swim.

I was inspired to make this poster by the many Lido’s we swam at and by the natural beauty of the surrounding area. But also loved seeing the sense of community these clubs brought to towns. After school we would see a swarm of kids run and join their parents for evening barbecues and swims and lawn games. It reminds me of the simple pleasure of togetherness.

Out of sight out of mind Poster

This poster was inspired by the mistreatment of chicken in America. Many factory-grown chickens gain more than 50g in weight every day. However, their immune systems, organs and legs cannot keep up, meaning they suffer a range of extreme physical problems.
